Demographic and clinical criteria of intranasal lobular capillary hemangioma: as retrospective multicentric audit

Abstract Introduction Lobular capillary hemangioma (LCH) is a benign vascular tumor that rarely affects the nasal cavity. Pregnancy and previous trauma or surgery might be implicated in pathogenesis of this tumor. However, majority cases, there no identified cause. The objective study was to characterize numerous demographic clinical aspects intranasal LCH find whether link between its likely causation other parameters. We retrospectively reviewed medical records (from 2012 2021) subjects with proven cases on histopathological evaluation at four main hospitals Baghdad, Ramadi, Tikrit, Samawah cities, Iraq. detailed information concerning age, gender, duration, features, side, location, type anesthesia, follow-up period, recurrence registered for each participant. Results Of 82 patients, were 73.2% females. (79.3%) from age group 18–40 years. patients (74.4%) seen within 1–2 months. Most originated left side (59.8%) septum (81.7%). Epistaxis most common presenting symptom (91.5%). No cause 42.7% followed by pregnancy (31.7%) (25.6%). There significant difference possible gender ( P -value = 0.000). rate 3.66%. Conclusion Intranasal shows female predominance mostly involved septum. chief complaint cases. Age can determine lesion.
